It's called the Howard Roush Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship symbolizes our learning-driven culture and emphasis on growth, development and financial education.
There's no way we could choose just one Kentucky student to award a scholarship to. So, we choose ten. Even still, it's a tough choice when reviewing these incredible scholars.
This year, Spring of 2024, we selected the following high school seniors to receive a total of $25,000. This breaks down to $2,500 for each recipient to use toward college expenses - tuition, books, meal cards and more.
Some have been Members since birth, and others have been Members since learning about the opportunity for college scholarships through the Credit Union. We are equally proud of all our students who are Abound Members!
If you're finding reading this blog wondering if you or your student could be eligible for this scholarship next year - first and foremost we want to make sure you or your student have an active Abound Savings Account opened on or before December 31, 2024. Our application link opens on our website starting January 1, 2025. There is a series of scholarship eligibility requirements listed.
Applications are accepted January 1 through March 31, 2025. Scholarship recipients are selected in April and awarded during our Annual Meeting on May 13, 2025.
