Abound Celebrates New Military Investment
Abound is for Military. We've said it loud and proud for years. We continue to find new ways to support our Military and Veterans, through all stages of life.
Recently, the men and women of Marion County Veterans Honor Guard came to us with a need. Their Honor Guard organization is made up of Veterans who gather, travel and provide military graveside rites to Veterans - the organization was in desperate need of a bus to transport its volunteers.
Abound Credit Union fulfilled that need. The funds fully purchased a new bus that now transports 20 veterans to pay tribute to other veterans' military service and support their families.
You will see this bus traveling throughout Central Kentucky starting this summer. We celebrated this huge asset for Marion County Veterans Honor Guard at our Abound Campbellsville Branch on Friday, July 26. Abound leaders, Marion County Veterans Honor Guard representatives and Kentucky State Senator Jimmy Higdon shared their remarks during the event.
"Supporting the military is in our DNA," says Ring Springsteen, President/CEO of Abound Credit Union. "We're proud to invest in the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard, helping their efforts and impact each even further."
"Our collective strength as an organization allows us to make investments in the community like this one, which will provide reliable transportation for the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard as they honor veterans and seek to provide solace during the most difficult times for our military families," says Wanda Parker, Abound Credit Union's Board Chair.
If you see this bus around town, we encourage you to stop, check it out and thank a veteran.
