United States Veterans and Military make our communities a better place to live and work.

These men and women start busisneses, they lead and support community groups, they coach and teach our kids. And luckily for us, Veterans also start credit unions. That's where Abound comes from.

In 1950, our Credit Union was started by ten Military Veterans. They brought their vision to life by contributing $100 each, totaling $1,000. Fast forward 75 years, Abound has grown to $2.5 billion in assets, serving nearly 130,000 Members and employing 370 passionated and talented Team Members.

This wouldn't have been possible without the knowledge, selflessness and passion from a small group of Veterans.

Now, our Credit Union provides Financial Education to 20,000 people each year - adults and youth alike. We support Veterans and Military throughout all stages of life. This includes Military children attending schools at Fort Knox, along with area schools and colleges, so they have a better understanding about how to manage their money. We support individuals when they're transferring out of the Military, through our Veterans2Entrepreneurs (V2E) program. We value how our Veterans continue to help make our community a better, more vibrant place to live.

In the last seven years, Abound has donated more than $600,000 to Veterans in need. This money is filtered through USA Cares to help Veterans pay housing, utilities, groceries, gas and other necessities. Abound continues to support healthcare programs located right outside Wilson Gate near Fort Knox, providing convenient healthcare to those living on or near the Military base. New this year, Abound supports Marion County Veterans Honor Guard, an organization made up of Veterans who gather, travel and provide Military graveside rites to Veterans throughout central Kentucky.

Since our founding in 1950, our purpose remains the same. Abound supports financial freedom for every person and community we serve.

Abound is fortunate to employ Veterans who help support our Members. Plus, we've honored to have Veterans who volunteer on our Board of Directors.
